Bulgaria offers some of the most diverse enduro terrains in Europe, but choosing where to set up camp can be a challenge. Whether you crave the energy of a capital city or the serene authenticity of a mountain village, we have the perfect spot for you. Here is the breakdown of our two main locations: Sofia and Banya.

Sofia: The Vibrant Capital & Wild Balkans

If you want to mix epic riding with the excitement of a modern European city, Sofia is your destination.

  • The Vibe: Sophisticated yet adventurous. After a day in the dirt, you are right in the heart of the action. Sofia offers a massive variety of high-end restaurants, craft beer bars, and a buzzing nightlife.

  • Accommodation: We stay at Hotel Edi, nestled in the quiet, upscale Dragalevtsi neighborhood at the foot of the mountain.

  • The Logistics: The trails start in Buhovo, about a 30-minute scenic van shuttle from the hotel. This short drive allows us to reach the deep forests and rocky ridges of the Balkan Mountains.

  • Best For: Riders who love city culture, sightseeing, and want to explore the best food and bars Bulgaria has to offer.

Banya (Bansko): Authentic Roots & Spa Recovery (1.45h drive from Sofia)

For those who want to disconnect from the world and focus entirely on the mountains, Banya is a hidden gem.

  • The Vibe: Rural, authentic, and cozy. Banya is located right next to Bansko, Bulgaria’s premier ski resort. You get the best of both worlds: the historic charm of Bansko’s old town and the peaceful, traditional atmosphere of our village.

  • Accommodation: Our private Guest House in Banya. The highlight? A hot mineral water pool right in the garden—the ultimate way to recover your muscles after a hard day’s ride.

  • The Logistics: Zero transit. The trails start directly from the doorstep. We gear up at the house and head straight into the mountains on our bikes.

  • Best For: Riders looking for maximum “bike time,” authentic village life, BBQ nights in the garden, and total relaxation in thermal waters.

The Verdict

Can’t decide? Both locations offer tracks for all skill levels, from technical hard enduro to flowing scenic paths.

  • Choose Sofia for the “City & Mountain” mix.

  • Choose Banya for the “Eat, Sleep, Ride, Repeat” mountain lifestyle.
